Cell cycle is a process in which a cell undergoes division, replication, synthesis and also observes resting state. There are two main phases of cell cycle.

One is interphase where the cell rests, grows, does DNA duplication, passes through various checkpoints, and ultimately gets itself to enter the mitotic phase.

Mitotic phase of a cell is the dividing phase where cell undergoes four types of division - Prophase, Metaphase , Anaphase and Telophase.
