space in B = 2* space in A

40% of 96 = 2*x% × 64

40×96/128 =x%

x=30%

Answer:

The percentage of space used for advertisement in magazine A = 30%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given number of pages in Magazine A = 64

number of pages in Magazine B = 96

and the space used for advertisement in B is twice that in magazine A

let space used for advertisement in Magazine A = x

then the space used for advertisement in Magazine B = twice the x

                                                                                              = 2x

the percentage of space used for advertisement in magazine B= 40%

the space or number of pages used for advertisement in magazine B =

                           [\frac{40}{100}]× 96 = 34.4

 the space used in magazine B,  2x = 34.4

 the space used in magazine A,  x = 19.2

the percentage of space used for advertisement in magazine A

                                             [\frac{19.2}{64}] × 100

                                          = 30%
