In a close packing, which means cubic close packing (CCP) or FCC, we have 8 tetrahedral voids and 6 octahedral voids keeping one sphere constant. So for half a sphere we'll have 4 tetrahedral and 3 octahedral voids. I've tried using colour coding but it's difficult to make people understand 3D like this.
