The number of trophic level in a food chain is limited. Justify?

while food is consumed by animals in each trophic level 10%of total energy from food is lost.....if the number of trophic levels is more then the animal in the highest trophic level gets least amount of energy and thus the number of trophic levels is limited....

eg

plants produce 1000J
1st trophic level 100J
2nd trophic level 10J
and it gos on decreasing leaving the last trophic level with no energy
