The number of turns in the primary of a transformer is two times greater than that in the secondary a) Identity the type of transformer b) If 50V is the given to the primary what will be the voltage obtained in secondary c) If the current in its primary coil is 4A what will be the the current in the secondary

a) Since no. of turns in primary coil is greater,it is a step down transformer .

b) Ns/Np = Vs/Vp

=>Vs= Ns*Vp/Np = (1/2) * 50 = 25 Volts

c) Is = Np* Ip /Ns = 2*4 = 8 Amperes
