Solution :

• Let , the number be $x$ .
• According to question given that number which exceeds $20 \%$ of itself by $60$. We write given condition as -

       $20 \% \text { of } \mathrm{x}=\frac{20}{100} \times \mathrm{x}=\frac{\mathrm{x}}{5}$  

           $\begin{array}{l}\therefore x-\frac{x}{5}=60 \\\Rightarrow \frac{4 x}{5}=60 \\\Rightarrow x=60 \times \frac{5}{4} \\\Rightarrow x=75\end{array}$

Hence , missing number is $75$.
