Let the no. Be x

-6/11 - x = 8/9

-x = 8/9 + 6/11

Taking LCM we get,

-x = 88+54/99

-x = 142/99

x = - 142/11

Therefore answer is -142/11

Given:

One of the numbers is - 6/11.

The outcome after subtraction is 8/9.

To find:

The second number.

Solution:

Let us take the second number as X.

We have to take the difference of -6/11 and X. The answer after subtraction is 8/9.

Therefore,

(- 6/11) – X = 8/9

X = (- 6/11) - (8/9)

X = - 142/99

The second number, which when subtracted from – 6/11, gives 8/9 as the answer is -142/99.
