Let the numerator be x

Let the denominator be y

The fraction is x/y

A/Q -> x = y + 4

=> x - y = 4 ----------- 1

A/Q -> x/y + 1 = 3/2

=>2x = 3(y + 1)

=>2x = 3y + 3

=>2x - 3y = 3 --------- 2

Equation 1 × 2 => 2x - 2y = 8

Equation 2 × 1 => 2x - 3y = 3

---------------------

y = 5

Putting the value of y in Equation 1:-

x - y = 4

=>x - 5 = 4

=>x = 9

Hence the fraction is = x/y = 9/5

Answer:

let the denominator be x. therefore, numerator= x+4

after adding 1 to the denominator,

according to the condition ,

x+4/ x+1 = 3/2

2× (x+4) = 3 × ( x+1)

2x + 8 = 3x + 3

2x + 8 - 3x - 3 = 0

-x + 5 = 0

-x = -5

x = 5

∴ denominator = x= 5

numerator= x+4= 5+4= 9

the fraction is 9/5
