the numerator of a fraction is 1 less than its denominator.if 1 is added to both numerator and denominator ,the fraction becomes 4/5. find fraction.​

Answer:

Hey Mate.........

Let the denominator of fraction be ' X '

Therefore, the numerator of the fraction becomes x - 1

Then, According to the Question.

x + 1

___ = 4

x -1 + 1 5

x + 1 = 4

___ ___

x 5

By Cross Multiplication

5x + 5 = 4 x

5x - 4 x = -5

x = -5

Which Implies that the denominator of the fraction is -5

Numerator of the fraction = x - 1

= -5 - 1

= -6

Therefore the fraction will be -6 / -5 = 6 / 5
