Let the denominator be x
Therefore according to the question
x-1=numerator

Given: x-1-2/x+3=1/4

x-3/x+3=1/4

x-3=x+3/4

4x-12=x+3
4x -x=12+3

3x=15

x=5

Therefore the numerator is 4 and denominator is 5

Let the denominator be x.

Therefore, numerator = x-1

So, According To Question→

{(x-1)-2}/(x+3) = 1/4

or, (x-3)/(x+3) = 1/4

or, 4(x-3) = x+3

or, 4x - 12 = x + 3

or , 4x - x = 3 + 12

or, 3x = 15

or, x = 15/3

or, x = 5

Therefore,

The fraction →

(x-1)/x = (5-1)/5 = 4/5

Answer→ the fraction is 4/5.
