Answer:

let the denominator of fraction be x.

Then the numerator is x-4.

Subtract 2 from numerator and add 1 in denominator.

8(x-4-2)=x+1

8(x-6)=x+1

8x-48=x+1

8x-x=1+48

7x=49

x=7

The numerator is x-4=7-4=3

The denominator is x=7

Therefore,the fraction is 3/7

Given :

→ The numerator of a fraction is 4 less than denominator.if the numerator is decreased by 2 and denominator is increased by 1 then denominator is eight times numerator.

ㅤㅤ

Find :

→ The fractional form.

ㅤㅤ

Solution :

→ Let "x/y" be fractional form.

ㅤㅤ

→ x = y - 4

→ x - y = - 4 -----(1)

ㅤㅤ

→ 8(x - 2) = y + 1

→ 8x - 16 = y + 1

→ 8x - y = 17 -----(2)

ㅤㅤ

Subtract the equations:

→ 8x - y = 17

→ -7x = -21

→ x = 21/7 = 3

ㅤㅤ

Adding "x = 3" in equation (1):

→ 3 - y = - 4

→ y = 3 + 4 = 7

ㅤㅤ

Therefore ,

→ x = 3

→ y = 7

→ Fractional form = (3/7).
