Let the denominator be x.
Then the numerator is x-4 .

Now the fraction is
 \frac{x-4}{x }

If 1 is added to both numerator and denominator ,then the fraction becomes 1/2 .

 \frac{x-4 + 1}{x + 1} = \frac{1}{2}

 \frac{x - 3}{x +1 } = \frac{1}{2}

2(x -3) = 1(x +1 )

2x -6 = x +1 \\ 2x - x = 1 +6 \\ x = 7

Now, Denominator of the fraction is 7

The numerator of the fraction is 7-4 = 3.

Therefore, The fraction is 3/7
