According to Question now,

➳ (x - 4) + 1/x + 1 = 1/2

➳ 2(x - 4 + 1) = 1(x + 1)

➳ 2x - 8 + 2 = x + 1

➳ 2x - 6 = x + 1

➳ 2x - x = 1 + 6

➳ 3x = 7

x = 3/7

Therefore,the required fraction is 3/7.
