x-4=1 /x + 1 = 1.2 (according to the question)
therefore by cross multiplying we get
2 ( x-4+1) = 1 (x+1)
2x - 8 + 2 = x + 1
2x - x = 1 - 2 + 8 (bringing all variables to one side)
x = 7
