Let the denominator be x
And the numerator be (x- 6)
Now, according to ques.

x-6+1 / x+1. = 1/2
x-5/x+1. = 1/2
2(x-5). = x+1
2x - 10. = x+1
2x - x. = 10 + 1
x. = 11

The fraction is x-6/x = 11-6/11
= 5/11
