Heya friend,

Let the denominator of the fraction be x. Then,

it's numerator = (x-6)

New numerator formed = x-6+3

= x-3

According to question,

x-3/x = 2/3

=> 3(x-3) = 2x

=> 3x-9 = 2x

=> 3x - 2x = 9

=> x = 9

Hence, denominator = 9

numerator = 9-6 = 3.

So, the original fraction is 3/9.

Thanks

Hope it helps you.

let the denominator be x
so, numerator = x-6
so,
x-6+3/x = 2/3
x-3/x = 2/3
3(x-3) = 2x
3x-9 = 2x
3x-2x = 9
x= 9
