fraction = x-6 / x

a/c to the question,

(x-6)-4 / x-1 = 5/8

x-10 / x-1 = 5/8

by cross multiplication,

8(x-10) = 5(x-1)

8x-80= 5x-5

8x-5x= 80-5

3x = 75

x= 25
