Heya !!!

Let denominator of rational number be X.

Then numerator of rational number = ( X -2)

Rational number = ( X -2)/ ( X )

Denominator is increased by 5 and numerator is increased by 2 then new denominator and numerator = ( X +5) and ( X -2 + 2) = X

Rational number = X / ( X +5)

According to question,

X / X +5 = 1/2

2X = X +5

2X - X = 5

X = 5

Denominator = X = 5

and,

Numerator = X -2 = 5-2 = 3

Rational number = 3/5

The answer is here,

Let the denominator be x. Then the numerator will be x-2.

 =  >  \:  \frac{x - 2}{x}

If denominator is increased by 5 & numerator by 2.

 =  >  \:  \frac{x - 2 + 2}{x + 5}  =  \frac{1}{2}

 =  >  \:  \frac{x}{x + 5}  =  \frac{1}{2}

=> 2x =x+5.

=> x=5.

So, The rational number is (x-2)/x.

=> (5-2)/5

=> 3/5.

:-)Hope it helps u.
