ANSWER
========

Let the denominator be x

Numerator = x - 5

The number is increased by 3

=> x - 5 + 3 / x + 3 = 1 / 2

=> x - 2 / x + 3 = 1 / 2

=> 2 ( x - 2 ) = x + 3

=> 2x - 4 = x + 3

=> 2x - x = 3 + 4

=> x = 7

ANS
--------

DENOMINATOR = 7

NUMERATOR = 7 - 5 = 2

The fraction is 2/7.
