let numerator be x
then denominator = x +4

if x turns to x+3 and x+4 turns to x+4 -5 = x -1

then x+3 / x -1 =2

x+3 = 2x - 2

2x - x = 3+2

x = 5

so numerator is 5
and denominator is 5+4 =9

number is 5/9
