Average speed= \frac{Total distance}{Total time}

Initial reading=1800
final reading=2400

total distance= Final reading -initial reading  = 2400-1800 = 600 km
total time= 10 hrs

Average speed= \frac{600}{10}
                        = 60 km/hr

CONVERTING km/hr TO m/s
To convert km/hr to m/s just multiply by 5/18

60× \frac{5}{18}

=16.66 m/s

distance covered by the car
s = 2400 - 2000 \: km \:  = 400 \: km  \:  \\ time \: elapsed \: t \:  = 8 \: h \:  \\ average \: speed \: of \: car \: is \:  \\ v \: av \:  =  \frac{s}{t}  \:  =   \frac{400}{8h}  \: km \: \\ 50 \: k m \:   {h}^{ - 1}  \\ 50 \: \frac{km}{h}  \times \frac{1000}{1 \: km}  \times  \frac{1 \: km}{36 00 \: s }  \\  = 13.9 \:  {ms}^{ - 1}  \: the \: average \: speed \ \\ of \: car \: is \: 50 \: km \:  {h}^{ - 1}  \: or \: 13.9  \: {ms}^{ - 1}
hope it help you please mark as brilliant
