The order preventing a subordinate court from exceeding its jurisdiction is called as Prohibition or commonly called stay order.

The Writ of forbiddance intends to restrict or to stop and it is prevalently known as 'Stay Order'.

The writ of restriction is issued by any High Court or the Supreme Court to any second rate court, or semi-legal body precluding the last from proceeding with the procedures in a specific case, where it has no ward to attempt.

After the issue of this writ, procedures in the lower court and so forth grind to a halt.
