Answer: rupees  1456

step-by-step explanation:

find the volume of given cuboid = 10 x 8 x 7 = 560 cm^3

thickness of wood is 1 cm

so the dimensions of the inner cuboid are (10-1) x (8-1) x (7-1)

volume of the inner cuboid is 9 x 7 x 6 =378

the volume of the required wooden box is 560 - 378 = 182 cm^3

as 1 cm^3 cost rupees 8 182 cm^3 cost rupees 1456

ans  rupees 1456

Given outer length = 10 cm

Outer breadth = 8 cm
Outer height = 7 cm

Now, Outer volume
= length × breadth × height
= 10 × 8 × 7
= 560 cm3

Thickness of wooden box, w = 1 cm

Inner length
= l – 2w
= 10 – 2 = 8 cm
Inner breadth
= b – 2w
= 8 – 2 = 6 cm
Inner height
= h – 2w
= 7 – 2 = 5 cm

Outer volume

= 8 × 6 × 5
= 240 c m3

Volume of wood used

= outer volume – inner volume
= 560 – 240 = 320 cm3

Given cost of 1 cm3 of wood = Rs 8 Hence the total cost of wood required = Rs 8 × 320

= Rs 2560

Hope it helps!
Best wishes!
