let the oxidation no. of chlorine be X.

as we know that oxidation no. of Potassium is +1.

and oxidation no. of Oxygen is -2
there are three Oxygen so, -2 X 3 = -6

[Net charge of a molecule is 0 ]

so,

X + (1-6)= 0
=>X -5 = 0
=>X = +5

Hence the oxidation no. of Chlorine is +5
