we know that two lines are parallel

if their slopes are equal.

for equation

a x+ by + c = 0

slope

 =  \frac{ - cofiicient \: of \: x}{coficient \: of \:y }

 =  \frac{ - a}{b}

solution

given two lines

2x+y+3 = 0

AND

4x+ ky+6= 0

these two lines are parallel are if their slopes are equal.

then ,

slope of line 1 = slope of line 2

 - 2 =  \frac{ - 4}{k}

then ,

k = 2
