The parallel sides of a trapizium are 28cm ad 21 cm and each of its non parallel sides is 17 cm find area of trapizium

solve as below solution.

The figure is an isosceles trapezium because the non-parallel sides are both 10 cm.

(28–16)/2 = 6 cm.

Distance between the parallel sides = [10^2–6^2]^0.5 = 8 cm.

Area of the isosceles trapezium = (28+16)*8/2 = 44*4 = 176 sq cm.
