\LARGE{\bf{\underline{\underline{GIVEN:-}}}}

  • AB = 12 cm.
  • DC = 20 cm.
  • DE = 10 cm.

\LARGE{\bf{\underline{\underline{TO:FIND:-}}}}

  • The area of trapezium.

\LARGE{\bf{\underline{\underline{SOLUTION:-}}}}

The area of trapezium is given below:

\mapsto \sf{\red{Area=\dfrac{1}{2}(d_1+d_2)h }}

▣ Where:

  • d₁ and d₂ are parallel sides.
  • h is the altitude (Altitude is the distance between the parallel sides).

▣ In our trapezium, the blue coloured lines (AB and DC) are the parallel sides and the green coloured line (DE) is our altitude.

\to \sf Area=\dfrac{1}{2}(AB+CD)DE

\to \sf Area=\dfrac{1}{2}(12+20)\times 10

\to \sf Area=\dfrac{32}{2}\times 10

\to \sf{\red{Area=160 \ m^2}}

∴ Area is 160 m².
