If you want 1 LED bulb to convert AC to DC,then you are probably using a half wave rectifier. Though it is the simplest to design,it has high THD and very low efficiency. Yes. LED chips only works (with no flickering) using continuous current, due to the InGaAs or GaAs or like LED composition.
