Given :-

The perimeter of a parallelogram = 150 cm

One of its side is greater than other side by 25 cm.

To Find :-

The length of the parallelogram.

The breadth of the parallelogram.

Analysis :-

According to the question, take the length and breadth as variables.

Using the formula of perimeter of rectangle substitute the variables in the formula and add the 25 to the length.

Get the value of the variable and substitute them in the length.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth
  • p = Perimeter

Let the two sides be x + 25 and x respectively.

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Perimeter \ of \ rectangle=2(Length+breadth)}}

Given that,

The perimeter of a parallelogram = 150 cm

And, one of its side is greater than other side by 25 cm

Substituting their values,

\sf Perimeter = 2 ( x + 25 + x ) = 150

\sf =2x+25= 75

\sf =2x=75-25

=\sf 2x=50

Finding the value of b,

\sf x=\dfrac{50}{2}

\sf x=25

Breadth = 25 cm

Length = x + 25

= 25 + 25 = 50 cm

Therefore, the two sides are 25 and 50.
