Given:

  • The perimeter of a parallelogram is 24 cm. One of it's sides is 2 cm greater than the other side.

Need to find:

  • Length of all the sides of the parallelogram.

Solution:

Let the smaller side of the parallelogram be "x".

Then, the larger side of the parallelogram will be "x + 2".

According to question,

➜ Perimeter = 2(x + x + 2)

➜ 24 = 2(x + x + 2)

➜ 24/2 = (x + x + 2)

➜ 12 = 2x + 2

➜ 12 - 2 = 2x

➜ 10 = 2x

➜ 10/2 = x

x = 5

Hence,

  • 1st side of parallelogram is 5.
  • 2nd side of parallelogram is 5.
  • 3rd side of parallelogram is (x + 2) = 5 + 2 = 7.
  • 4th side of parallelogram is (x + 2) = 5 + 2 = 7.

[opposite sides of parallelogram are equal.]

Answer:

The perimeter of a parallelogram is 140 cm. If one of the sides is longer than the other by 10 cm.

Let smaller side (a) =x then longer side (b)=x+10

Perimeter =2(a+b)=2(x+x+10)=140

=> x=30

Smaller side =30cm Larger side =30+10=40 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

hope It helped you
