Answer:

Perimeter= 2( length+ Breadth) = 240 cm

Let one side is x

Other side is 5x

then 2( x+ 5x) = 240

=> 2x + 10x  =240

=> 12x  =240

=> x=240/12= 20

Since one side is 20, other side will be 5x20= 100 cm

therefore the four sides of Parallelogram= 20,100.20 and 100 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a parallelogram is the sum of the lengths of its four sides. and  opposite sides are congruent,

Answer :

  • All sides of the parallelogram are 20, 20, 100 and 100 respectively.

Given :

  • The perimeter of a parallelogram is 240 cm. One of the sides is 5 times the other side.

To Find :

  • Length of all sides of the parallelogram.

Solution :

Suppose ABCD be the parallelogram in which

  • AB = CD = a
  • BC = AD = b

Let

  • BC = x
  • AB = 5x

Here

  • Perimeter of the parallelogram is 240cm

As we know that

Perimeter of the parallelogram is

  • 2 (a + b)

According to question :-

→ Perimeter of the parallelogram = 2 (5x + x) = 240

→ Perimeter of the parallelogram = 2 × 6x = 240

→ Perimeter of the parallelogram = 12x = 240

→ Perimeter of the parallelogram = x = 240/12

→ Perimeter of the parallelogram = x = 20

Now

  • BC = AD = x = 20cm
  • AB = CD = 5x = 20(5) = 100cm

Hence all sides of the parallelogram are 20, 20, 100 and 100 respectively.
