Solution

Given :-

  • The the perimeter of a rectangle is 13 cm and its width is 2 \dfrac{3}{4} cm.

To Find :-

  • The length of rectangle.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let the length of rectangle be x cm .

As we know that :-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

Putting the respective value,

=  2 \times  \dfrac{3}{4}

=  2 ( x + \dfrac{11}{4})

Given that ,

Perimeter of rectangle = 13

Therefore,

According to the question,

=>  ( x + \dfrac{11}{4} ) = 13

=>  x + \dfrac{11}{4} = \dfrac{13}{2}

=>  x = \dfrac{13}{2} - \dfrac{11}{4}

=>  x = \dfrac{26}{4} - \dfrac{11}{4}

=>  \dfrac{15}{4}

=> 3 \dfrac{3}{4} cm

Hence,

The length of rectangle = 3 \dfrac{3}{4} cm

According to the question, let's carry on

We have to use the formula to find perimeter of rectangle. It's formula is given below again.

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

Where,

  • l means length.
  • b means breadth.

As we know that P and L is given we have to find the B we have to solve this question like this.....

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

13 cm = 2 ( 2 \frac{3}{4} + breadth )

2 \frac{3}{4} means \frac{11}{4}

13 = 2 ( 11/4 + b )

13 = 11/4 + 2b

b = 13/2 - 11/4

Taking LCM of 2 and 4 we get 4

b = 26/4 - 11/4

b = 15/4

b = 3 \frac{3}{4}
