The perimeter of a rectangle is 24 inches, how do you find the dimensions if its length is 3 times greater than its width?

perimeter of rectangle=24= 2(a+b)

let width b be x

then length = 3x

Now, 2(3x+x)= 24

4x = 24/2

4x = 12

x=12/4

x=3

length is 3x = 3×3 = 9inches

width is x = 3 inches
