The perimeter of a rectangle is 304 cm. The length is 40 cm longer than the width. Find the length and width. *

Let the breadth be x.

Length = x+40

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

=> 304 = 2(x+x+40)

=> 304/2 = 2x+40

=> 2x+40 = 152

=> 2x = 152-40

=> 2x = 112

=> x = 56

Hence, the breadth of rectangle is 56 cm.

Length of rectangle = 56+40 cm = 96 cm
