Answer:

X = 7cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of rectangle = 42 cm

Let breadth = x

Let length = 2x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

42 = 2 ( x +2x)

42/2 = 3x

21 /3 = x

So, x= 7 cm

Given :

  • Perimeter of the rectangle = 42 cm
  • It's length is double its breadth.

To find :

  • The length and breadth of the rectangle

Solution :

★ Let:-

  • The breadth = x
  • The length = 2x

We know:-

  • Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

→ 42 = 2(2x + x)

→ 42 = 4x + 2x

→ 42 = 6x

→ 42/6 = x

x = 7

•°• Length = 2x = 14 cm

•°• Breadth = x = 7 cm
