The perimeter of a rectangle is 46 cm .of its breadth is 3 cm more than one- third of the lenght ,then find, the length and breadth of the rectangle

Answer:

Let the length be x and

breadth=x/3 + 3=9+x/3

perimeter=46

∴2(x + 9+x/3)=46

2  *   4x+9/3=46

8x+18/3=46

8x+18=46*3=138

8x=138-18=120

x=120/8=15

length=15 cm

breadth=1/3* 15 + 3=8 cm
