Step-by-step explanation:

let the breadth be x

the length of rectangle be 2x

Perimeter of rectangle =2(l+b)= area

2(2x+x) = 48

2×3x = 48

6x = 48

x = 48 ÷ 6

x = 8

Breadth of rectangle is 8cm

length of rectangle is 2x = 2 × 8 = 16cm

we find area of rectangle = l × b

= 16 × 8

= 128cm
