Let the length and breadth of rectangle be 5x and 3x respectively.

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( l+b )

➡ 480 = 2 ( 5x + 3x )

➡ 480 = 2 ( 8x )

➡ 16x = 480

➡ x = 480/16

➡ x = 30.

So,

Length = 5x = 5(30) = 150

Breadth = 3x = 3(30) = 90

Now,

Area of rectangle = l × b

➡ 150 × 90

➡ 13500 unit²

Required answer is 13500 unit².

Q. The perimeter of a rectangle is 480 ratio between length and breadth 5:3 the area is?

Solution :

Given :-
Perimeter of rectangle = 480 units
And ratio between length and breadth = 5:3

Let,
length of the rectangle = 5x units
breadth of the rectangle = 3x units

We know that,
Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l+b)
[ In which 'l' is the "length" and 'b' is the "breadth" ]

=> 480 = 2 ( l + b )

=> 480 = 2 ( 5x + 3x )

=> 480 = 2*8x

=> 480 = 16x

=> 480/16 = x

=> 30 = x

Hence, value of x = 30

So,
length = 5x units = 5*30 = 150 units
breadth = 3x units = 3*30 = 90 units

Now,
Area of the rectangle = (l × b) sq. units
Area of the rectangle = 150*90
Area of the rectangle = 13500

Hence, are of the rectangle = 13500 sq. units.
