Answer:

243 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter= 72

let the sides be x and 3x

Therefore,

72 = 2(4x)

72= 8x

x= 72/8

x=9

therefore 3x= 27

now

Area of triangle= x(3x)

= 9(27)

= 243 cm²

Perimeter = 72 cm
Let length = L
Let width = W
So, According to question.
> Length = 3 x width
= L = 3 x W
Perimeter of rectangle = 2 x ( Length + Width )
We will put 3 x W in place of Length in above formula.

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 x ( 3W + W )
= 2 x 4W
= 8W ⬅️ Perimeter
So, 8W = 72 cm
= 72 cm is our perimeter.
= 8W = 72cm
= W = 72 ➗ 8
= W = 9cm. So the width of rectangle = 9cm.
= Length = 3 x width
= Length = 3 x 9 = 27cm

Length = 27cm
Width = 9cm

Area of rectangle = Length x Width
= 27 x 9
= 243 cm square.. AREA OF RECTANGLE.
