Answer:

Perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

84 = 2 ×23+b

84/2=23+b

42-23=b=19

area of rectangle=l×b=23×19=437 cm²

Answer:

Given :-

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is 84 cm and it's length is 23 cm.

To Find :-

  • What is the area of the rectangle.

Formula Used :-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Area of rectangle = l × b

where,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth

Solution :-

To find breadth of a rectangle,

Let, the breadth be x

Given :

  • Length = 23 cm
  • Perimeter = 84 cm

According to the question by using the formula we get,

2(23 + x) = 84

46 + 2x = 84

2x = 84 - 46

2x = 38

x = 38/2

x = 19 cm

The breadth of a rectangle is 19 cm .

To find area of a rectangle,

Given :

  • Length = 23 cm
  • Breadth = 19 cm

According to the question by using the formula we get,

Area = 23 cm × 84 cm

Area = 437 cm²

The area of a rectangle is 437 cm² .
