Given:-

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is equal to that of a square with side 17m .

  • If length of the rectangle is 26 m.

To Find:-

  • What is its breadth ?

Formulae used:-

  • Perimeter of Square = 4 × Side

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

Where,

  • L = Length
  • B = Breadth

Now,

Atq

→ Perimeter of Square = Perimeter of Rectangle

→ 4 × Side = 2 ( L + B )

→ 4 × 17 = 2 ( 26 + B )

→ 68 = 52 + 2B

→ 68 - 52 = 2B

→ 16 = 2B

→ B = 16/2

→ B = 8m

Hence, The Breadth of Rectangle is 8m.

Answer:

breadth =8m

Step-by-step explanation:

square side= 17m

perimeter of square= 4Xside

=4X17

=68m

given that perimeter of rectangle and square is equal

so,

perimeter of square=perimeter of rectangle

68m=2X(l+b)

68=2(26+b)

68/2=26+b

34=26+b

34-26=b

8=b
