Answer:

hi

Explanation:

perimeter of square- 4*side

15*4

60

perimeter of rectangle

2(l+b)

2(20 + b)=60

20+b=60/2

20+b=30

b=30-29

b=10cm

❄️ Question :-

The perimeter of a rectangle is equal to the perimeter of the square of side 15cm. If the side of the rectangle is 20cm long, what is the breadth ?

 \\

❄️ Solution :-

Given, that the perimeter of a rectangle is equal to the perimeter of the square whose side is 15cm.

Given, length of the rectangle = 20cm

Perimeter of a square = 4 × Side

\orange \mapsto \sf 4×15cm

\orange \mapsto \sf 60cm

Perimeter of square = Perimeter of rectangle

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2×(Length + Breadth)

Let the unknown breadth of the rectangle be h.

\green \mapsto \sf 2×(20cm+h)=60cm

\green \mapsto \sf 40+2h=60cm

\green \mapsto \sf 2h=60-40

\green \mapsto \sf h=\Large\frac{20}{2}

\green \mapsto \sf h=10cm

Therefore, the breadth of the rectangle with length 10cm, and perimeter equal to a perimeter of a square with side 15cm.

 \\

❄️ Verification :-

Perimeter of the square = Perimeter of the rectangle

4×Side = 2(Length+Breadth)

\blue \mapsto \sf 4×15=2(20+10)

\blue \mapsto \sf 60cm =2(30)

\blue \mapsto \sf 60cm=60cm

LHS = RHS

Hence, verified !!
