Answer -

Breadth is 20cm and Area is 800 sq.cm

Explaination :

Given :

→ The perimeter of the plank is : 120 cm

→ Length : 40cm

To find :

• Breadth of the plank

• Area of the plank

Solution :

\textbf{Breadth\:of\:the\:plank}

Consider the Breadth as b

→ Perimeter of RECTANGLE = 2 (l + b)

 = > 120 = 2(40 + b)

 = > 120 = 80 + 2b

 = > 2b = 120 - 80

 = > 2b \: = 40

 = > b \: = \frac{40}{2}

 = > b = 20

\textbf{Area\:of\:the\:plank}

→ AREA of Rectangle = L × B

 = > 20 \times 40

 = > 800

\large{\green{\boxed{\green{\boxed{\red{\textsf{The Area = 800 sq.cm}}}}}}}

Ans: Breadth is 20cm and Area is 800 sq.cm
