Q: The perimeter of a rectangular plot of land is 240 cm and its length is 63 cm. Find the breadth and the area of the plot.

Solutions :-

Given :
The perimeter of a rectangular plot of land is 240 cm.
Length = 63 cm

Find the breadth of a rectangular plot :-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)
=> 240 = 2(63 + Breadth)
=> 240/2 = 63 + Breadth
=> 120 - 63 = Breadth = 57

Find the area of the plot :-

Area of rectangle = (Length × Breadth) sq. units
= (63 × 57) cm²
= 3591 cm²

Hence,
Breadth of a rectangular plot = 57 cm
Area = 3591 cm²

There will be a correction in the question because the perimeter is actually less than the given length ( 240cm < 63m ) this can't be possible so, the corrections :

→ PERIMETER of the plot = 240cm

→ Length of the plot = 63cm

=> PERIMETER = 2 ( l + b )

=> 240 = 2 ( 63 + b )

=> 240 = 126+ 2b

=> 2b = 240 - 126

=> 2b = 114

\large = > b \: = \frac{114}{2}

\large = > b \: = 57cm

=> \large{\green{\boxed{\green{\boxed{\red{\textsf{b =57cm }}}}}}}

∴ The BREADTH is 57 cm

→ Area of the plot = Length × BREADTH

=> 63 × 57

=> \large{\green{\boxed{\green{\boxed{\red{\textsf{3591 sq.cm}}}}}}}

∴ The area of the plot is 3591 cm²
