Given perimeter = 20 metres

perimeter = 4a

So,

4a = 20

a = 20/4 = 5

we know that area of a square = a^2

So, area = 5^2 = 25

Area of the square = 25m^2

Hope this helps!

Perimeter of sqare = 4 × side

20 = 4 × side

side = 20/4 = 5 m

=> Area of square = side × side

=> Area of square = 5 × 5 = 25 m sq
