perimeter of square =4*side
40=4side
side = 10
area of square = side²=100
area of square=area of rectangle
100 =l×b
100=20b
b=100/20
b=5 cm

Given :-

  • Perimeter of Square = 40cm

  • Length (l) of Rectangle = 20cm

  • Area of Square = Area of Rectangle

To Find :-

  • Breadth of Rectangle

Solution :-

Now,

Perimeter of Square = 40cm. ----(given)

And,

We know that ,

Perimeter of Square = 4a, where a = side of Sq.

So,

4a = 40

a = 40/4 = 10cm

Hence,

Side(a) of Square = 10cm

We know that,

Area of Square = a²

Area of Rectangle = l × b

And,

It is given that,

Area of Rectangle = Area of Square

l × b = a²

20 × b = (10)²

20b = 100

b = 100/20 = 5cm

Hence,

Breadth of Rectangle = 5 cm

More Formulas :-

Square

  • Area of Square = a²

  • Perimeter of Square = 4a

  • Diagonal of Square = √2a

Rectangle

  • Area of Rectangle = l × b

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(l + b)

  • Diagonal = √l² + b²
