Area of the rectangle = 56 - 8

= 48 sq. m

Area of a rectangle = Length x Breadth

Here, Length = 16 m

Therefore,

48 = 16 x Breadth

Breadth = 48/16

= 3m

The breadth of the rectangle will be 3 metres
