Answer ::

The breadth of the rectangle is 48m.

Step-by-step explanation ::

To Find :-

  • The breadth of rectangle

Solution :-

Given that,

  • The perimeter of a square is double that of a rectangle
  • Perimeter of square = 120m
  • Length and breadth of rectangle are in the ratio of 3 : 2

ACCORDING THE QUESTION,

  • The breadth of rectangle is,

Given that,

Perimeter of rectangle = Double of the perimeter of Square,

➳ Perimeter of rectangle = ( 2 × 120 ) m

➳ 240m

The perimeter of rectangle is 240m.

As we know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

Where,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth

Let us assume the length and breadth as 3x and 2x, respectively.

➳ 2 ( l + b ) = 240

➳ 2 ( 3x + 2x ) = 240

➳ 3x + 2x = 240 / 2

➳ 3x + 2x = 120

➳ 5x = 120

➳ x = 120 / 5

➳ x = 24

The value of x is 24.

Now, the breadth of rectangle is,

We assumed the breadth of rectangle as 2x, therefore the breadth is,

2x

➳ 2 × 24

➳ 48

The breadth of rectangle is 48m.
