the perimeter of a triangle is 65 meters.The second is 5 meters less than the first side .The third side is 7 meters more than the first side . what is the length of each side?

therefore second side is x - 5 and third side is x + 7.

perimeter of the triangle is given = 65m

therefore sum of all sides = 65m

=> x + x - 5 + x + 7 = 65m

=> 3x + 2 = 65m

=> 3x = 65 - 2

=> 3x = 63

=> x = 63/3

=> x = 21m

hence, first side = x

= 21m

second side = x - 5

= 21 - 5

= 16m

third side = x + 7

= 21 + 7

= 28m

verification :-

perimeter of the triangle = sum of all sides

= 21 + 16 + 28

= 37 + 28

= 65
