the perimeter of an isosceles is 42 and its base is 1/½ each of the equal sides find the area of the triangle ( given √7 =2.64)

Answer:

(i)

the length of each side of the triangle

121x+x+x=42

23x+x+x=42

27x=42

x=12cm

side=12cm

(iii)

the height of the triangle

base2+height2=hypotenuse2

⇒height2=122−92=63

∴height=63=37cm

(ii)

Area of the triangle

Area=21base×height

=21×18×37

=71.28sq units
